Event Organisation

International Events

I worked as an organiser on the Dragonbane project, to create an international live roleplay event.  325 participants from over a dozen countries attended in 2006, in a purpose built fantasy village and with a full size mechanical dragon.  The project was funded by corporate, government and european sponsorship.

My work on the project included:
- Liasing with fellow organisers from multiple countries, discussing both logistical and artistic issues
- Creative writing, particularlly information relating to the cultural and metaphysical setting
- Editting and pooling the work of multiple other writers
- Coaching participants from diverse backgrounds in their roles

In 2010 I was invited to visit a group of role-play organisers in the Netherlands to present ideas and techniques and run a series of experimental events.  This involved:
- Presenting in tutorial and workshop format to a group of non-native english speakers.
- Selecting, preparing and delivering the material, including leading follow-up discussions to analyse their experiences.

Smaller Events

I have run over fifty small live role-play events over the years.  Venues have ranged from local function rooms to the Olympia Conference Centre in London. 

I have run events in UK (both England and Scotland), Sweden, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Future Projects

- I am currently lead writer on the 'Two Peoples' project, developing an interactive dramatic event to run in Sweden in Summer 2011.  My logistical team are Swedes based in Gothenburg.  Expressions of interest have been recieved from multiple countries, including as far as the USA.  The event website (created by me) is available here: http://www.twopeoples.uphero.com/  I also created and maintain a forum for this project, linked from this site.

- I am a consultant organiser for 'Weave of Fate,' an international event for a few hundred people that runs every year (for over 15 years) in Summer in Sweden.  My duties as an 'Organiser without Portfilo' are wide-ranging work to identify and improve different aspects of the event.  http://www.weaveoffate.com/
